Browsers and Operating systems

Browser versions and operating systems
With an increasing number of browsers and operating system combinations we have not been able to test all possible configurations. However, we have tried to test the most popular combinations used by our clients.

The browser versions and operating systems we have tested are:

Internet Explorer 6
Netscape Navigator 6.2

with

Windows 2000
Windows XP
Mac OSX

This does not mean that the browser and operating system you have will not work with our site. As a guide, if the homepage displays correctly, this is a good indication that your browser will be compatible with the site.

If you are unsure about what browser version you are using this is how you can find out:

On Microsoft Internet Explorer:

  • Select ‘Help’ on the browser options at the top of the screen
  • Select ‘About Microsoft Internet Explorer’
  • A pop-up window will display the type of browser currently being used

On Netscape Navigator/Communicator:

  • Select ‘Help’ on the browser options at the top of the screen
  • Select the ‘About Navigator/Communicator’
  • This will display a page that shows the browser currently being used

Customised browsers should have a similar function to let you see which browser you’re using. Please refer to your browser provider for more information.

If you don’t have a suitable browser you can get one free by using one of the following options:

  • Log on to www.microsoft.com and download a suitable version of Internet Explorer
  • Log on to www.netscape.com and download a suitable version of Netscape Communicator

We also recommend that you regularly update your PC with any security patches that become available from the manufacturer of your operating system.
