CFD Dealing - Account Details
How to trade
These CFDs are an agreement between you and Barclays Stockbrokers CFDs to exchange, at the closing on the contract, the difference between the opening and closing prices, multiplied by the number of shares in the contract.
As well as trading CFDs on UK equities, you can also trade on many world indices, including the FTSE 100, NASDAQ, Dow Jones, S&P, Dax, CAC, Nikkei and Hang Seng.
You do not physically buy or hold the underlying share, you only have direct access to the price performance. You predict whether the price will rise – going long - or fall – going short - and trade on that basis.

You can trade Barclays Stockbroker CFDs using Limit and Stop Orders. In some circumstances, you will be able to use a Stop Loss order when trading by phone. A Stop Loss order allows you to limit losses by setting a price which triggers a sell order (for long positions) and a buy order (for short positions).
Cash management
You must ensure that there is always sufficient fund within your account. At least, you must be able to cover the minimum margin requirement of all contracts and any associated costs. Insufficient funds may, in some circumstances, lead us to close your CFD position. Please make sure you have familiarised yourself with our margin call procedures before opening a CFD account.
Important Information
