Commission is charged per deal. Other charges and service restrictions may apply.

Following the withdrawal of Merrill Lynch from the retail market, and in line with other broker participants, with effect from Monday 22 December 2008 we will no longer be able to offer premium-free pricing on purchases dealt on a T+10 basis, which is the market standard settlement period for certificated dealing.

This means that the price you buy at will now have a premium applied to it by the market makers. Through our relationships with market makers, we will continue to execute your transaction at the best market price available to us.

Please note that this only applies to purchases, sales are unaffected.

 

Taxes & Levies
Stamp duty or stamp duty reserve tax (SDRT) on UK equity purchases is payable at the prevailing rate at the time of dealing. The current rates are:
0.5% SDRT on all UK equity purchases settled through CREST, rounded up to the nearest 1p
0.5% stamp duty on all UK equity purchases not settled through CREST, rounded up to the nearest £5 Stamp duty on Irish registered stock is currently charged at 1%
The Panel of Takeovers and Mergers currently levy £1 on all UK equity transactions of £10,000 and over.

Administration Charges

There are no administration fees for this account.
