With Barclays Stockbrokers Investment ISA you can invest up to £7,200 (2008/09 allowance) a year and your portfolio will be free from Capital Gains Tax on any growth, and Income Tax on dividends or interest. This means you will pay no tax on any returns received into your ISA investments, nor any capital gains tax on growth of your investments*.

And with our Investment ISA you will be in complete control of your investments. You can choose from our extensive range of investments which allow you to structure a portfolio which meets your investment objectives and risk profile. As well as stocks & shares and gilts & bonds, you could consider iShares, funds, Investment Notes, Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) and REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). Selecting your own investments is not for everyone, the value of these investments can fall as well as rise and you may lose money.

The value of the favourable tax treatment to ISAs to you will depend on your individual circumstances. You should bear in mind that this favourable treatment might not continue indefinitely, but the current government has indicated that it is committed to ISAs and the benefits that they provide.
