Our Investment Notes are innovative structured products that can be held in our trading accounts, Investment ISA* or SIPP.

Investment Notes, exclusively developed by Barclays Capital, offer you, the private investor, the chance to diversify your portfolio by giving you access to a wide range of underlying assets such as shares, commodities, indices or a combination of all three. The simplest version is a tracker that aims to match the performance of a single underlying share, commodity or index e.g. FTSE 100.

You will benefit from any rise in the underlying instruments and indices that the notes are made up of. Many of our Investment Notes also offer capital protection, when held for the full term. Our Investment Notes typically have a five year term.

What if I want to sell before the end of the term?

If invested for the full term you would benefit from the capital protection if offered. If however you feel the term is too long for you to commit to, you are free to sell your Investment Note, at the market price, at any time without incurring any further penalties, however you may get back less then you had invested.

 

Limited availability –don’t miss out

To get the full benefits of capital protection, if offered, you need to buy the Investment Notes directly from ourselves (through the primary market). Please be aware that this primary market sale is only available for a limited period. Following this all Investment Notes are available to buy and sell on the LSE (secondary market), where capital protection, if offered, can no longer be guaranteed.
