Calmer waters

In recent months, market volatility has eased somewhat and the movement of share prices and indices has fallen into more typical patterns. Investor confidence, however, will have been buoyed by the fact that the FTSE100 rallied from its lows in January and by May had risen above the 6,000 mark.
